5 things we love about the 2019 Toyota Tacoma

Trucks are fun to own because they are rather functional. You can use them to tow or use the truck bed to haul big and heavy items that would be a struggle to fit into even the most cavernous SUVS. And with certain trims, like those you'll find on the new 2019 Toyota Tacoma lineup, you can even take them off-roading!

Here are five things we love about the Tacoma:

  1. You still get an impressive towing range with the smaller Tacoma. The 2.7L engine can tow up to 3,500 pounds and the 3.5L V6 up to 6,800 pounds. When you consider that the lowest starting tow rating for the larger Toyota Tundra is 6,400 pounds, the Tacoma's V6 option doesn't seem so light.
  2. There's not one but two trim options for off-roading. The first is the TRD Off-Road and it has Bilstein shocks, multi-terrain select, and an off-road tuned suspension. The TRD Prof takes it further with FOX Internal bypass shocks, tuned front coils, a locking rear differential, and nice leather seats.
  3. Even if you don't choose an off-road ready Tacoma, you'll still get a GoPro mount! This is standard on all trims and lets you capture all your adventures, whether they're on the trails or on winding and paved backroads.
  4. In the past, truck safety has lagged a little but not anymore. Starting during the 2018 model year, the Toyota Safety Sense package of advanced safety technologies was made standard! We love that shoppers at all Tacoma budgets can drive with that added peace of mind.
  5. How many cords do you have in your car for charging your cell phone? At least one, and probably a backup as well as a cord for your friend who has a device with a different port. Well, you can ditch the cords thanks to the available wireless charging pad!
