It’s one of the more difficult parking maneuvers to pull off, especially for newer or less experienced drivers—the parallel park. There doesn’t need to be so much stress surrounding parking, parallel or otherwise, now that the 2016 Toyota Prius features available Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) and Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA), which work in concert to help you park your Prius with just a little oversight and input on your part. Check out the video, then join us below for more information.
The 2016 Prius is loaded with available features to assist drivers with some of the finer points of driving, and the available ICS and IPA systems are two such features that make parking your Prius a breeze. When you choose available ICS and IPA, the ICS sensors housed in the vehicle scan for stationary objects, like a wall, parked vehicle, or a telephone pole, and the IPA automatically controls the steering of the vehicle in order to help guide you into an open space. You control the brakes, and if you get too close to another object, the system will emit an audible warning sound, cut engine/motor output, and apply braking pressure to prevent a potential collision.
So next time you’re frantically searching for the single open parking spot in all of Appleton and you find it, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing you’ll have some help getting safely parked because you opted for the available Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Intelligent Parking Assist on your 2016 Toyota Prius. If having a personal parking assistant sounds good to you, come see us in our Appleton showroom and speak to someone from our sales team about getting behind the wheel of your own Prius equipped with the ICS and IPA systems.
