Performance
Both the Tundra and Silverado offer plenty of power for drivers. But in this head-to-head, the 2025 Tundra, we fell, comes out on top. Powering the Tundra are two powertrains. There's the standard 389-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, while higher trims offer a 437-hp hybrid setup that combines the twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor. Properly equipped, the Tundra can also tow up to 12,000 pounds. If you frequently haul heavy loads around Green Bay, the Tundra's robust powertrain options will get the job done with ease.
When looking at Silverado, this truck does have more engine options, offering more power over the Tundra. This is because the Silverado has four engines available. There's the standard 310-hp turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder, 355-hp 5.3-liter V8, a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel with 305 hp and 495 lb.-ft of torque. The Silverado, also has better towing at 13,300 pounds.
However, we did say that the Tundra came out on top in this comparison. That's for two reasons. One, while the Chevrolet Silverado offers several engine options, it falls short of the Tundra's innovative hybrid powertrain that delivers unmatched power and efficiency. And two, with only two engine options available on the Tundra, drivers don't have to pay much to get the most out of the model. By comparison, OshKosh residents will have to pay quite a premium to enjoy the strong engines and the maximum towing capabilities of the Silverado.
