New Toyota Tundra vs Chevrolet Silverado
How the 2025 Toyota Tundra and Chevrolet Silverado Stack Up to Each Other
Are you in the market for a full-size pickup truck? Then, you may be considering models like the Toyota Tundra and Chevrolet Silverado. If both these models interest you, but you can't quite decide which one to get, then allow us to help. We'll break down the key differences between these two trucks so you can easily see why the Tundra is the better option.
Performance
Both the Tundra and Silverado offer plenty of power for drivers. But in this head-to-head, the 2025 Tundra, we fell, comes out on top. Powering the Tundra are two powertrains. There's the standard 389-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, while higher trims offer a 437-hp hybrid setup that combines the twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor. Properly equipped, the Tundra can also tow up to 12,000 pounds. If you frequently haul heavy loads around Green Bay, the Tundra's robust powertrain options will get the job done with ease.
When looking at Silverado, this truck does have more engine options, offering more power over the Tundra. This is because the Silverado has four engines available. There's the standard 310-hp turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder, 355-hp 5.3-liter V8, a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel with 305 hp and 495 lb.-ft of torque. The Silverado, also has better towing at 13,300 pounds.
However, we did say that the Tundra came out on top in this comparison. That's for two reasons. One, while the Chevrolet Silverado offers several engine options, it falls short of the Tundra's innovative hybrid powertrain that delivers unmatched power and efficiency. And two, with only two engine options available on the Tundra, drivers don't have to pay much to get the most out of the model. By comparison, OshKosh residents will have to pay quite a premium to enjoy the strong engines and the maximum towing capabilities of the Silverado.
Technology
Inside the Toyota Tundra, there's a wealth of fetures to keep drivers connected and entertained. There's an available 14-inch touchscreen, one of the largest in its class, with user-friendly controls and functions like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tundra also features built-in Amazon Alexa functionality, enabling Neenah drivers to use voice commands for various tasks, such as streaming music, getting directions, and controlling various other features.
By comparison, the Chevrolet Silverado's offers slightly smaller 13.4-inch touchscreen on most trims. Although the Silverado offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Assistant, and Google Maps, it lacks the Tundra's comprehensive suite of connectivity features and the convenience of Amazon Alexa.

Safety
Safety is a top priority for both Toyota and Chevrolet. However, the Toyota Tundra leads the way with its Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite of features, which are standard on every model. This package includes pre-collision automatic emergency braking, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, road sign assist, and more. These features work together seamlessly to provide Appleton drivers with an unparalleled level of protection.
While the Chevrolet Silverado also offers Chevrolet Safety Assist, which includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and more, it falls short of the Tundra's Toyota Safety Sense 2.5. The Silverado's safety suite just doesn't make up for the more advanced and comprehensive safety features found in the Tundra.
Purchase the New Toyota Tundra
After comparing the new Toyota Tundra and Chevrolet Silverado it's clear that both trucks are extremely capable and well-equipped. However, the Tundra's hybrid, more advanced tech, and its Safety Sense 2.5 give it the overall edge as the truck that offers the most comprehensive package for most drivers.
